Information We Collect & Why

To schedule and deliver Quran classes, we collect the following personal information — primarily during the free trial class registration and through subsequent communications:

Email Address

Used to confirm your trial class booking, send class reminders, and serve as the primary communication channel between you and our institute. In some regions where Skype is restricted, it may be shared with your assigned tutor.

Country

Helps us identify your timezone and account for local public holidays when scheduling sessions. Shared with your assigned tutor so they can plan accordingly.

Course Type

The type of Quran programme you select — such as Tajweed, Hifz, or Tafseer — helps us assign the most appropriate certified tutor for your needs. Shared with the tutor.

Subscription Plan

The plan you select (Free Trial, Monthly, or Quarterly) determines billing expectations and class frequency. Shared with the tutor for scheduling purposes.

Preferred Trial Time

The time slot you request for your first class helps us coordinate availability between you and your tutor. Shared with the assigned tutor.

Language(s) Spoken

Knowing which languages you or your children are comfortable in helps us select a tutor who can communicate effectively and make lessons more engaging.

Skype / Platform ID

Used to conduct online classes via Skype or an alternative video platform. You will be informed before your ID is shared with the tutor, and you may request an alternative method at any time.

Phone Number (Optional)

Collected to help us confirm your trial class booking by phone if needed. Your phone number is never shared with tutors. All student–tutor communication must go through the platform channel.

Usage Data: We also collect standard website analytics data — such as referring pages, page visits, time spent on pages, device type, and session frequency — to improve our website experience. This data is anonymised and does not identify you personally.
4

Information Storage & Protection

All personal data submitted through Egypt Quran Teacher is stored securely in our records with regular encrypted backups. We take the following technical measures to protect your information:

TLS Encryption: All data in transit — from your browser to our servers, and from our servers to any third-party processors — is protected using modern TLS (Transport Layer Security). Older, insecure protocols such as SSL v2 and SSL v3 are blocked entirely.

Some personal data may be processed or stored by our service providers (data processors) outside of the European Union. In all such cases, we ensure those providers maintain appropriate data protection agreements (DPAs) and comply with applicable privacy regulations.

5

Information Sharing

Egypt Quran Teacher does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. We share your data only to the limited extent necessary to deliver our services, and only with providers who have signed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).

Direct Marketing

Egypt Quran Teacher does not routinely send marketing emails. On rare occasions when we do send promotional communications — such as special offers or announcements — every email will include a clear and easy-to-use Unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Clicking that link will immediately remove you from all marketing communications. Transactional emails related to your active classes (such as class reminders and scheduling updates) are not affected by unsubscribing from marketing.

  • Restrict Processing Processed within 3 working days. Your data will be retained but no further processing or marketing communications will occur.
To submit either request, please email info@egyptquranteacher.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" or "Restrict Processing Request". A formal written request is required, and you will be notified by email once it has been actioned.
11

Data Portability

You have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (such as CSV or JSON).

The information we hold about you primarily consists of your trial registration form submissions, class scheduling records, and email communications. Upon request, we will compile and share this data with you in a portable format. Please allow up to 7 working days for this request to be fulfilled.

12

Security Assurances

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted transmission (TLS), secure password policies, and restricted staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

While we take every reasonable precaution, no online platform can guarantee absolute security against all threats. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account and to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access.

⚠️ Data Breach Notification: In the unlikely event of a security breach that affects your personal data, Egypt Quran Teacher will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the incident. We will communicate the nature of the breach, what data was involved, and the steps we are taking to address it, via your registered email address.
13

Kids' Privacy

Egypt Quran Teacher warmly welcomes students of all ages, including young children learning to recite the Quran for the first time. We take the privacy and safety of younger students extremely seriously.

🌙 All website content is fully appropriate and safe for children of all ages.

When a child is enrolled by a parent or guardian, we collect only the information necessary to schedule and conduct their Quran sessions. We do not build profiles on children, serve them targeted advertising, or share their details beyond what is described in the Information Sharing section above.

Parents and guardians retain full rights to access, correct, or request deletion of their child's data at any time.

14

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Egypt Quran Teacher reviews and updates this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date shown at the top.
